How do I pay for services at Brandywine OT?
Several major health insurance companies accept and cover OT services, however, please contact your insurance provider as each plan varies.
We also accept fee-for-service.
My child no longer qualifies for OT at school or early intervention program, but they still have issues engaging in their everyday activities. Can he/she still receive outpatient therapy?
Yes, you can still receive outpatient OT services! It is possible that your child does not qualify for services at school because their difficulties do not affect their educational performance. However, you should seek outpatient therapy services if your child still needs help overcoming difficulties affecting other aspects of their life.
If my child receives OT at school, can he/she also receive outpatient therapy?
Yes, you may receive outpatient occupational therapy services in addition to school-based therapy. Seeking therapy in more than one setting can benefit your child's overall engagement in daily activities. School-based OT will work with your child to meet their educational needs, while outpatient OT addresses your child's ability to function across a variety of settings such as home and the community.
How long is a typical treatment session? How often are we seen for therapy?
After your child's initial evaluation at the barn, the occupational therapist will decide, based on your child's specific needs, the frequency and duration of services. We typically offer 30 minute or 45 minute sessions, 1 or 2 times per week.
Are there age restrictions for the use of hippotherapy in treatment?
At Brandywine OT, we begin treating individuals at 18 months of age. We work with adults, as well.
